Waking Watch Services

At TWF we are proud to provide a Waking Watch Service. In the wake of the Grenfell tragedy in June 2017, we researched and identified ways we could help our clients to take measures in preventing similar tragedies from occurring. Thus, we joined the Fire Protection Association (FPA) enabling us to learn the best preventative measures. This expertise allow us to provide our clients with the safest Waking Watch Service.

Our promise


The purpose of our team is to regularly patrol the designated areas and to be on alert for any safety concerns that may arise. This could be the sound of internal fire alarms, items blocking a fire escape or the smell of gas. Should any issues arise whilst the service is being provided, our staff are all trained to follow emergency procedures. This ranges from notifying emergency services and fire marshals to assisting in the safe evacuation of the building. In this scenario staff would also be briefed on any emergency plans our clients have in place and can assist in the safe evacuation of any vulnerable individuals that may reside in the block. As part of any service provided, our staff are regularly monitored and supported. They supply regular logs of their patrols according to NFCC guidelines which are also made available to our clients.

At TWF the safety of the residents is our main priority. We have Waking Watch Officers who are present at the site 24/7 throughout 7 days a week. This is due to a hazard being possible at any time. Many of the biggest Fire Related tragedies have occurred after 10pm. We will always do our best to ensure that in the case of an emergency the residents are always safe.

All TWF’s members of staff who conduct our Waking Watch Services, have undergone an immense amount of training to be able to appropriately deal with any potential hazard which could occur at a site.

They are also prepared to provide advice to any residents at a site on how to evacuate correctly. As well as how to be as safe as possible during an emergency.
